About us

Organised by Cambridge Dream, the UK Artificial Intelligence Olympiad (UKAIO) is the official UK national competition within the International AI Olympiad (IAIO), bringing together talented young people from across the UK to compete in theoretical and practical AI challenges. UKAIO provides a pathway for students to develop their AI skills and compete on the international stage.


At IAIO 2026 in Ljubljana, Slovenia, Team UK achieved outstanding results, competing against 98 students from 26 countries and securing a Top-3 Gold Medal (First Place Globally), a Gold Medal, and an Honourable Mention. The next IAIO will take place 25 February–2 March 2027 in Vietnam. Further details, including the host city and competition format, will be announced in due course. Competition
The UK national competition will be conducted in two phases.
The first phase will identify the National Qualifiers — participants who demonstrate exceptional capability and the potential to represent the UK on the world stage.

The second phase will determine the UK Delegation, the final team selected to compete at the International AI Olympiad Finals and showcase the nation’s talent in artificial intelligence on a global platform.
